Multiplex and Murphy top June contracts league

Multiplex and Murphy shared the honours in the contracts league rankings for orders taken in June after both firms bagged a project estimated to be worth £200m.

Murphy took the contract to build a £200m station in south Cambridge for the East-West Rail line. Enabling works are underway at the site located next to the Cambridge Biomedical Campus, home to the Royal Papworth Hospital and AstraZeneca headquarters.

While in the City of London, Multiplex signed a deal with Royal Asset London Management to deliver a £200m office scheme next to Holborn Viaduct.

The 36,000 sq m offices designed by PLP Architecture will see the demolition of three buildings with the foundation retained to reduce the scheme’s carbon footprint.
