Leeds 30-storey Springwell Gardens tower approved

Developer Citylife has gained consent for a 30-floor residential skyscraper in Leeds, after scaling down its height from 46 floors.

The £100m scheme planned for Whitehall Road in the north west part of Holbeck would consist of 345 flats with a sky garden and private roof terrace.

Designed by Nick Brown Architects, the project on the site of Holbeck’s Cartwright House would form the second phase of the Springwell Gardens scheme in the city.

Construction is timetable to get underway in April 2024.

Citylife’s first phase of the Springwell Gardens development, a stepped brick building rising to 16 storeys, is being delivered by Morgan Sindall, with P&R Morson as MEP contractor.

This project is scheduled to be completed in weeks.
