Tower crane collapses on Edinburgh resi site
A tower crane jib collapsed on a major residential site in Edinburgh on Tuesday morning.
A video of the incident posted to social media shows the jib fell onto the apartment block under construction.
A further video shows the site evacuated and emergency services arriving at the scene.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9.30am on Tuesday, 28 November, 2023 we received a report that a crane collapsed at a building site in Stead’s Place in Edinburgh.
“Emergency services are in attendance.
“There are road closures in place at Leith Walk and Pilrig Street.”
The 110 build-to-rent apartments scheme at Stead’s Place are being built by Metnor Construction for developer Drum Property Group and are due for completion next Spring.
