Student and residential specialist Fortis Developments Limited has gone into liquidation.

The Cheshire based developer has been in business since 2012 with 15 successful schemes under its belt containing 3,800 apartments.

Fortis had a construction division called Beaumount Morgan Developments which went into administration two years ago owing subcontractors and suppliers £7m.

Begbies Traynor is the liquidator at Fortis and a statement of affairs shows debts of more than £19m.

These include £5m owed to the tax man with HMRC currently carrying-out an investigation into the company.
