SPV Wins Top Platinum Membership and Inaugural Fellowship of 5% Club
SPV SPECIAL PROJECTS, part of the Phoenix Consortia group of companies, is celebrating a top award by The 5% Club of its Platinum membership status.
The organisation’s highest award means SPV is committed to employing more than 5% of its workforce through the earn-and-learn scheme.
At SPV Special Projects, more than 10% of the workforce are apprentices – something the company is incredibly proud of.
Following 3 years of Gold membership, the prestigious award positions SPV in the top 30 businesses acknowledged for their dedication to employee growth.
Mark Cameron OBE, 5% Club CEO said: “The Platinum Membership is a newly introduced top-tier honour within The 5% Club’s Employer Audit, reserved for members who have achieved Gold Membership status for three consecutive years and have 10% or more of their staff members participating in apprenticeships, graduate schemes, or sponsored student programmes in their third year. Out of the 180 businesses included in the Employer Audit, SPV is one of the distinguished 30 businesses to have attained this prestigious award.”
Inaugural Fellowship
In another outstanding tribute, SPV Commercial Manager, Kate Whatley was named as 1 of 10 Inaugural fellows of the The 5% Club during their 2023 employer audit celebration at the Mansion House on the 29th November 2023.
Inspired Action
A new scheme as part of the The 5% Club 10th anniversary celebrations, the fellowship recognises those individuals who have driven inspired action within The 5% Club and in their sector.
Kate Whatley commented, “I am thrilled to be part of this fantastic group of people who have all been recognised for efforts to encourage and drive inclusive and accessible workplace learning for all.”
This new scheme was created to recognise those individuals who have driven inspired action across and within The 5% Club movement and have impacted positively on the delivery of increased, inclusive, and accessible workplace learning for all.
The group will act as role models and look to deliver social impact, share advice and guidance by supporting the delivery of events through their own thought-leadership, or by connecting The 5% Club to the right people, employers, and organisations in their own professional networks. In addition, they will help shape The 5% Club thinking and operational activities and will sit on the Steering Group or Advisory Panel of the club.

Deliver Impact
Mark Cameron added, “The creation of today’s Fellows is our way of recognising the support we have received from those who give of their time, influence and thinking to ensure we have the necessary edge to deliver meaningful social impact. Quite simply we would not have achieved what we have in our first 10 years without these Fellows – they have helped us get to where we are today through a wide range of support and encouragement. Out thanks to all of them.”
Kate ends, “I look forward to working with the The 5% Club and all the Fellows to shape future activities, share advice and guidance and continue to support and deliver impact across the full range of earn and learn schemes.”
