Southern Water starts hunt for sewer network upgrade firms
Southern Water Services has started the hunt for partner contractors to deliver £466m of wastewater network projects for the AMP8 investment programme between 2025-2030.
The south of England water company is anticipating that AMP8 will be the largest investment programme it has ever undertaken.
Southern Water is aiming to establish collaborative contracts with network service providers across four work lots:
Lot 1 – Operate & Maintain. Spend £272m
Lot 2 – Civils & Rehab (incl IOW manhole covers). Spend £120m
Lot 3 – Manhole Covers (exc IOW). Spend £26m
Lot 4 – Lining spend £48m
Contractors will be required to support the utilisation of Southern’s leading digitized smart network, which has seen over 23,000 sensors installed into its sewer network, plus nearly 1,000 duration monitors to help shift to proactively generated work, rather than reactive work.
Firms have until 28 July to submit PQQs, with shortlisted contractors expected to be invited to tender on 6 October.
