Roofing Business Acquires First Permanent HQ
A SOMERSET roofing business has acquired its first permanent headquarters with funding from HSBC UK.
Yeovil-based Hodders Roofing has made the move from rented units after securing a £184,000 finance package via HSBC’s newly launched commercial broker scheme.
Launched in May 2023, the scheme aims to help customers expand their businesses through asset purchases, capital expenditure or other investment opportunities.

The acquisition of the new premises on the Glenmore Business Park will help Hodders Roofing to take on new projects and facilitate growth, allowing for the creation of two new jobs and a future apprenticeship position.
Founder, Simon Hodder, said: “We are thrilled to embark on this new venture for our business by acquiring our first permanent headquarters. Thanks to the HSBC UK funding, this new dedicated space will enable us to take on new projects and firmly establish ourselves in the local construction market.
“This move will make us stand out from our competitors and compete against some of the bigger players in the area. We’ve already seen more interest since moving in, simply by having more visibility from passers-by.”
Head of Commercial brokerage at HSBC UK, Ian Coulson, added: “It’s widely known that effective workspaces can offer huge benefits for organisations large and small, from greater productivity, collaboration and wellbeing. It’s great to see Hodders Roofing moving into its first premises and we’re pleased to support this acquisition.”
Set up 10 years ago, Hodders Roofing was previously based within half a mile of its new HQ, on the Lufton Trading Estate. The firm serves private and domestic housing clients as well as local authorities across Somerset and Dorset. Its services include slating and tiling, leadwork, repairs and rebuilds.
