Noida Metro Construction Speeds Up Post-2024 Elections

The acceleration of the Noida-Greater Noida Metro corridor construction post the 2024 Lok Sabha elections marks a significant milestone for the region’s transportation infrastructure. The project, which had been temporarily stalled due to the election code of conduct, is now poised to make rapid progress.

The Greater Noida West Metro project, a key component of this corridor, will introduce a 9.15 km elevated track featuring five stations. Notably, the metro station planned for Gautam Buddha Nagar is set to be a four-storey structure, a pioneering design in India’s metro network.

With a substantial budget allocation of Rs 1,100 crore, the project is scheduled for completion by the end of 2024. Spearheaded by the Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC), this initiative is aimed at significantly improving connectivity between Sector 51 in Noida and Greater Noida West.

The initial phase of the project will encompass sectors such as Sector 122, Sector 123, Sector 4, Sector 12 Ecotech, and Sector 2. This development is expected to bring about a substantial enhancement in transportation infrastructure, leading to reduced travel times and alleviating congestion in the region.

GR Infra Project Limited has been entrusted with the management of the construction, highlighting the government’s commitment to the project’s success. The completion of this metro line is expected to serve as a crucial link, catalysing economic growth and development in Noida and Greater Noida.

Beyond benefiting daily commuters, the project is also anticipated to have a positive impact on the real estate market, attracting further investments to the region and fostering its overall development.
