CONTINUING TO EXPAND the network, a new SIG Roofing flagship branch in Luton opened on 7th August.

With an improved breadth of stock, including the new solar offering, roofing contractors can expect a one-stop-shop for all their needs.

SIG previously had a presence in Luton, however this new branch is poised to offer an improved range and experience for customers.

Speaking of the new branch, Iain Prince, Regional Director for North London explains the choice for the site: “Luton was the right place to open a new branch. Its size means we have the opportunity to stock a broader range as well as the new solar offering. This, combined with its location just off the M1, made it the perfect site for servicing the wider area.”

SIG Roofing Flagship Branch

Described as a ‘flagship’ branch, Iain explains how the new branch will integrate with the area. “From a business point of view, there’s plenty of customer opportunity. The demand for product is here with plenty of projects coming through. Being larger also means Luton will be able to support our smaller branches further away in terms of stock holding. It’s a win-win as local customers get the full SIG Roofing range, while nearby branches are able to confidently discuss products they might not have had access to before.”

The increased range includes full system offerings for flat, pitched, rainwater, insulation and cladding requirements as well as industrial roofing products. Key is the wider variety of offerings from SIG’s supplier partners which gives customers choice. Alongside this, the branch includes a solar offering, providing quotations on request with short lead times on product availability.

SIG Roofing has invested heavily into getting the right people in place. Heading up the branch is manager, Jonathon Linford. Having started working for SIG three years ago as a yard operative in St Ives before becoming branch manager, Jonathon helped the branch grow making him the perfect candidate to become the manager of Luton.

For Jonathon, the chance to help lead from the front at Luton is an incredibly exciting prospect. He said, “Obviously I’m a little nervous about the launch but I’m also very excited about what’s to come. I’m happy that SIG have placed their confidence in me. My team and I have been working overtime in preparation for August.”

Recognising the diversity of the area, the team at Luton includes multilingual staff members, who will be on hand to ensure members of the community can benefit from the services on offer at the branch.

Trade Day

To help establish the new branch, 12th September will see the team hosting a Trade Day, where customers will have the chance to meet and speak with suppliers to understand more of the products available.

The opening of an SIG Roofing branch at Luton will provide national support at the local level for contractors within the area. It will provide access to experienced staff who can add value to local projects and help local contractors’ businesses grow and thrive.
