L&T Secures Contracts for Healthcare and Office Construction
Larsen and Toubro (L&T) has recently secured several notable contracts across India through its building and factories business. Among these contracts, L&T will undertake the construction of a super-specialty hospital in Gachibowli, Hyderabad, for the Asian Institute of Gastroenterology. This project entails the construction of civil structures, finishes, façade work, interiors, and comprehensive mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) services. Additionally, L&T’s scope includes paramedical services and external development, focusing on landscaping to enhance the overall environment of the hospital campus. The total built-up area for this project spans an impressive 11 lakh square feet.
In Mumbai, L&T has been commissioned for another significant project involving the construction of a large office space. This development will feature a civil and composite steel structure with two basement levels, a ground level, six parking levels, and 18 office floors. The project aims to provide modern office facilities and is slated for completion within a period of 20 months.
Furthermore, L&T has secured a substantial healthcare project from the Institute of Neurosciences in Kolkata. This project involves the construction of a medical college and hospital campus in Rajarhat, Kolkata, to include a 605-bed hospital and a medical college with an annual intake capacity of 150 students. The campus will also accommodate hostels for students, nurses, interns, and residents, with a total built-up area of 1.21 million square feet.
The Kolkata project will be executed in two phases over a span of 60 months. L&T’s responsibilities encompass civil structures, finishes, and MEP services, reflecting their comprehensive capabilities in healthcare infrastructure development.
These projects highlight L&T’s strong presence and expertise in the construction sector, reinforcing its role in delivering high-quality infrastructure across diverse regions of India.
