ROOFING AND CLADDING specialist Longworth and main contractor Urbanise are working together on the early stages of a cladding remediation project at the Exchange Building in Croydon.

Longworth will be involved in the stripping and replacement of the existing cladding to meet the requirements of the Building Safety Act (BSA).

The two businesses have previously worked together on a number of high-profile schemes across the UK, including Manchester Arena, Two Express Building and Eyewitness Works in Sheffield.

Safety is at the forefront of all construction in this partnership, and the Exchange Building project will ensure compliance with the high rise building (HRB) requirements of the BSA.

Early Stage Cladding Project

At Croydon, the works will include the removal of existing combustible cladding materials, replacing them with new Euroclass A1 equivalent products.

The new materials will maintain the building’s existing appearance, in keeping with the original planning requirements.

Urbanise Construction and Longworth have been involved at an early stage in the project to assist in the selection of materials, finalising specifications and comprehensive designs to meet stringent safety standards.
