Hunt for firms for £400m volumetric offsite deal
Housing association and local authority central procurement body Procurement for Housing is on the hunt for volumetric offsite firms to sign up to a £400m framework.
PfH is working together with the Building Better alliance of 29 housing associations and councils to build a select list of suppliers.
The MMC Category 1 Construction Systems framework has been split into low-rise housing and low and medium-rise apartment categories.
It comes at a challenging time for the sector, particularly in the single-family market where several of the main suppliers like L&G and Ilke homes have failed due to difficulties delivering at competitive market rates to traditional build.
But the multiple home, mid to high-rise sector continues to promise big savings in speed and cost of construction attracting demand from affordable home providers.
PfH anticipates the two lots will each deliver around £200m of work over the four-year framework duration.
Firms have until 5 January for applications. More details are available: email Tony Woods at PfH
