Role: Contracts Manager
Salary: £65,000 – £75,000 DOE + Performance Bonus
Location: Hungerford/Berkshire area

McCormack Partners is working with a rapidly growing main contractor with a focus on delivering high-quality projects in the social housing and education sector.

You will be a part of the contracting team which is the general construction and refurbishment arm specialising in local authority and public sector projects.

With a history of acquiring senior personnel from Tier 1 Contractors, the company has the strengths and structure of a Tier 1 contractor mixed with the close-knit culture of an SME. It is ambitious and has recently expanded into 5 divisions, with a turnover increase from £16m to £25m worth of work for 2023. Growing to £50M by 2025.

Responsibilities

Oversee £6,000,000 to £8,000,000 worth of work at any one time across 3-4 projects
Lead the pre-construction process, including project schedules, budgets, and scope of work
Build and manage a team of site managers and site supervisors
Oversee multiple sites and ensure they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards
Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
Oversee the quality control process and ensure work is completed to industry standards
Participate in the tendering process and bid preparation
Maintain positive and professional relationships with all stakeholders
Manage project costs and prepare financial reports
Oversee multiple trades and ensure their work is completed to industry standards

Requirements

A minimum of 5 years of experience as a contracts manager from construction/refurbishment background
Strong experience in both pre-construction and construction phases
Proven track record of overseeing multiple trades and ensuring their work is completed to industry standards
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
In-depth knowledge of construction contracts and the tendering process
Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
