Beard expands reach as revenue hits record £179m

Beard has reported its biggest year of sales in its 131-year history, with turnover rising 9% to hit £179m.

The improvement in sales in the year ending 31 December 2023 also restored pre-tax profits to £4.3m after a dip in the prior year.

Presently Beard is on an expansion push securing places on local and national frameworks. It recently opened a new office in Southampton, one of the key pillars to its growth strategy.

Beard finance director Fraser Johns said: “Business at Beard is thriving. We’ve seen very strong demand for our services over the past year, especially in the education and commercial sectors, and we’ve won plenty of work through local and national frameworks.

“We start 2024 upbeat about the prospects of the year ahead with a healthy head of work.”

“The new Southampton office is ideally placed to support our growth in the region.”

Alongside its new office, Beard also has offices in Swindon, Bristol, Oxford, and Guildford.
