AJW DISTRIBUTION, the South East centred roofing and cladding supplies, family-run business, has completed its first acquisition.

Castle Roofing Supplies Ltd in Market Deeping was acquired by AJW Distribution in a deal completed on 16 February 2024.

Ken Smith, the owner of Castle Roofing Supplies, was looking for a similarly family-run company to continue the business.

Having had a business relationship for a number of years, he initially approached AJW Managing Director Tom Woods to make inquiries.

AJW is regarded as “the perfect fit” offering the same level of customer service as Castle Roofing and dedication and commitment to ensuring the business continues to succeed.

AJW First Industry Acquisition

AJW’s Tom Woods said, “We were honoured to be contacted by Ken and feel that Castle Roofing is the perfect fit for the AJW Group. The depot is north of our current territory and gives us the opportunity to develop our business further into Peterborough and the surrounding areas.

“We have spoken about developing the AJW business for some time and feel this was an opportunity not to be missed. Ken and his team have created a solid business with an amazing reputation where service is at the forefront of their company ethos which is perfectly aligned with AJW’s.

“We are looking forward to continuing the level of service which they offer their customers; plus, we will look to develop the product offering from Castle Roofing in line with the rest of the AJW Group,” Tom ends.

Castle Roofing Supplies Ltd reported £.8m assets on its balance sheet in its latest accounts for up to 31 August 2022. Ken Smith will continue leading Castle Roofing Supplies alongside AJW.
