Technical Manager – Pitched Roofing

McCormack Partners are working with a rapidly growing main contractor with a focus on delivering high-quality projects in the housing and education sector. Our client is looking to expand their team with a Pitched Roofing Technical Manager for the group. With a history of acquiring senior personnel from Tier 1 Contractors, they have the strengths and structure of a Tier 1 contractor mixed with the close-knit culture of an SME. The company is ambitious and has recently expanded into 5 divisions, with a turnover increase from £4m to £16m and secured £25m worth of work for 2023.

Responsibilities

You will be the first point of contact for any roofing queries and technical advice for the group.
Oversee and manage all technical aspects of pitched roofing projects, ensuring that work is completed to the highest quality standards.
Develop and implement effective training for team members, ensuring that all employees have the necessary skills and knowledge to complete work to the required standard.
Conduct regular inspections of work to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and quality control standards.
Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure that projects are up to a high technical standard.
Stay up to date with the latest industry developments and trends in pitched roofing, identifying areas for improvement and making recommendations to senior management.
Provide technical support to clients and other stakeholders, answering any queries and resolving technical issues as required.
Review and assess new technologies and materials, making recommendations to senior management about their suitability for use in pitched roofing projects.

Requirements

A minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical role within the pitched roofing industry, with experience in flat roofing also preferred.
Excellent technical knowledge of pitched roofing, including knowledge of relevant regulations, health and safety requirements, and quality control standards.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information.
Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues.
Proven track record in delivering high-quality projects in a timely manner.
