Junior Estimator – Bridgend – Central Roofing

Role: Junior Estimator
Responsible to: Director
Division: Group
Location: Bridgend
Hours of work: 39 hours per week (Monday to Thursday – 8.00 am to 5.00 pm and Friday 8.00 am to 4.00 pm with 1 hour unpaid lunch)

Position – Junior Estimator

Your primary focus will be to assist the site and relevant managers in the development and implementation of all pre and post-contract strategies, commercial functions, and contract reporting. Your day-to-day duties will include working closely with relevant Departments. You will also be responsible for the general administration in your department.

Main Duties & Responsibilities 

In addition to the functions detailed below, employees are required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required.

Assist with overseeing tendering portals where we are currently registered
Assist with pricing of Assist with pricing of VOs
Updating accounts as and when VOs are instructed
Filing of all documentation provided throughout the contract by manufactures and clients
Sending files over by email to colleagues out on site
Undertaking file cleanse
Take receipt of all Purchase Orders and streamline of any project folders prior to passing up to accounts
Chase PO numbers, invoice addresses and contact details for all Purchase Orders
Any other reasonable requests from other departments
Consulting with subcontractors and suppliers to discuss estimates and resolve issues and enquiries
Identifying and quantifying cost factors, such as production time and raw material, equipment, and labour expenses
Analyse quotes from sub-contractors and suppliers to ensure pricing requirements are fulfilled
Handing over successful projects to the construction team in a clear and concise manner

Qualifications/Experience

Strong IT, Maths and prioritising skills
Confidential and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Self-organised and tidy working style
Aptitude for automating and streamlining office processes
Good time management
To work within Central Policies and Procedures
Ability to work as a member of a team whilst also using own initiative
A full UK Driving License
